I just wanted to post a reminder that I do this blog on my off-time and I DO have a day-job. So, if you send me an email and I don’t respond in a couple of days, it’s probably because I’ve been busy and haven’t had a chance to get to it yet. Also, I have a decent backlog of emails to address, so it often takes me as long as a month to get back to people…but I always send a reply eventually because I genuinely want to help people through this blog. All it takes is a little patience and I will get to each email.
In other words, sending me a terse “I sent you an email a few days ago and would appreciate a response” email probably won’t make me respond any faster. Thanks.

Marquis, you should not close the blog. You have been so so helpful for so much people!
But your help comes in 2 ways and the one that is giving you troubles now is not, I think, the main source of help you give to us.
Way number 1: The last period of the blog, the Q&A. This part is very helpful for the person that asks (I did, PhD in neuroscineces here!) and a bit to others. We could find this help from other consultants too. This is now putting too much pressure on you (time + emotionally).
2nd way: The first part of the blog, your adventure through the MBA and the interviews. This part, Marquis, is priceless! there is nothing at all like this on the net, and we can’t have it from other people either. Why not? because if I ask someone now how it was with their interviews that person will be biased since they know the outcome. What you wrote was in real time, you had no idea you would end up at McK. We saw it though your eyes, we saw your feelings before the interviews, and after, and how the results were somehow the contrary! We saw your last summer and how you faced the “unknown” going into McK, and how much you loved it afterwards. None can show this story so pure since they already know it, it needed to be a diary (or a blog). This part of your blog is the one that makes you unique.
In short: You could stop answering questions, just make sure your blog stays on the net. You have answered to my question about APDs, but the best I got from your blog was:
a) one needs to keep on fighting (your interview process)
b) Man, if everyone at McK is like this guy I really wnat to work there!! (they should pay you extra for this!)
You are very good, and people try to use those that are good (good=silly right?). Don’t let that make you feel like you should not help more. Your best help is on the archives.
And for the poster in the previous entry (your last day entry): “kids” shows love, it is not disrespectful. Just read more of the blog and see how much Marquis loves all his kids 🙂
