A major component of this site is a weblog that has had several lives, from its start as a featured MBA applicant/student blog on a separate site to its own presence on the Blogger system and now to its own domain as my personal website.
As you read through the entries, you'll see me go through three distinct phases in my life:
- Pre-MBA experience: Experiences that one typically goes through before matriculating at business school
- Life as an MBA student: Highs and lows of my time as a student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in much more detail than most would expect to see
- Post-MBA life...and serving as a career/education/life coach to the masses: Responses to questions emailed to me by readers, where I use what I have learned through my own missteps and experiences to help others achieve their goals and avoid making the same misstepsÂ
I’ve got a really quick request for y’all…
What's up, y'all. This is going to be a quick and very random entry, but I'm hoping that one of you will be able to help me out with something. Here's the story...I was listening to an online radio station on Pandora.com yesterday and heard a song that has me HOOKED!...
Questions from a MBA aspirants currently working in his family-owned business
What's good, folk. So, I was just sitting here enjoying my lazy Sunday with a healthy helping of NBA basketball and thought I might as well multitask and knock out another message from my Inbox backlog. It's been a while since I've made two posts in a single weekend...
Questions about from a second-year MBA student (and soon-to-be consultant) about consulting
Hello, all. As you might have noticed, my output of entries has been pretty light in 2009, which I feel bad about. I usually take some time on the weekends to work on responses to reader emails, but I've been pretty swamped with work and other stuff so far this month,...
Question about alternative energy consulting (something I know VERY little about)
Hey there, peoples. Welcome to the first entry of 2009. I wish I had been able to post this sooner, but I've been really busy with the start of the year. I've literally had the text file for the entry open on my laptop since Jan. 1 and it just sat there with me...

Hey there. I'm writing this entry from the terminal area at Reagan National Airport as I'm waiting for my flight back to Chicago and I'm kinda sad to be leaving. Of course leaving my family is part of that, but a BIG part of it leaving this niiiiiiiiiice weather here...

Some possibly useful new resources for my readers

Question about working part-time during the MBA1 year
Hey there, folk. So, I'm writing this entry from within the walls of my warm apartment, where I'll probably sit all day long. Chicago is such a nice city, but it's so cold outside that most people seem to stay inside during the winter months. My girl TD refers to this...
Responses to an applicant with questions about getting recs, nailing the GMAT, and a few other things
What's good, peoples. I know that it's been a while since I've posted a real new entry, but I've been swamped trying to get everything set up in Chicago. So far, I'm really liking this city and, fortunately, I already had a lot of friends here, so it's turning out to...
