A major component of this site is a weblog that has had several lives, from its start as a featured MBA applicant/student blog on a separate site to its own presence on the Blogger system and now to its own domain as my personal website.
As you read through the entries, you'll see me go through three distinct phases in my life:
- Pre-MBA experience: Experiences that one typically goes through before matriculating at business school
- Life as an MBA student: Highs and lows of my time as a student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in much more detail than most would expect to see
- Post-MBA life...and serving as a career/education/life coach to the masses: Responses to questions emailed to me by readers, where I use what I have learned through my own missteps and experiences to help others achieve their goals and avoid making the same misstepsÂ
My first midterms are over and I’m ready to crash…
After a little more than a week of grinding and hard work, I finally had my last midterm for the Fall quarter today and I feel like hitting the sack and it's only about 1pm. It all started last Wednesday morning with my final exam for the 1/2-quarter Organizational...
I’ve got a new perspective on school…
It's Saturday night and, unlike most people my age who are out having a good time, I'm sitting in my room hitting the books hard to get a Statistics problem set finished in time to work with one of my study groups tomorrow. Normally, I would be pretty salty about...
I am sooooo tired
Wow, it sure has been a while since I made an entry to this blog. I guess I'm always so busy that it's hard to find time to write. I'm just doing so much here at Stanford that I find myself being pulled in a million different directions and I've barely got time to...
Your boy is getting mighty old…
Whew! this has been a heck of a week, which included my 27th birthday yesterday (Sept 30). Unfortunately, I had so much work due for class today that i couldn't even go out and celebrate because I was at my desk plugging away at work until after 2am. It's not all bad...
Pre-term is almost over
T-Minus 3 days until the end of pre-term and your boy is exhausted. We've been taking two courses (Managing Groups and Teams & Ethics) for no credit, but they've both been assigning a lot of reading. Between that reading and all of the social pre-term activities,...
Dang…
I just checked into this blog and realized that the entry that I spent 30 minutes on yesteday was somehow deleted from the system. And, even worse, I didn't have it saved anywhere, so I pretty much lost what I'd written. Basically, it was a summary of the first week...
I know it’s been a while…
...since I made a new entry. The past week and a half has been filled with a lot of activity and I never took the time to sit down and put a new entry into my weblog. Since one of my classmates commented to me that he's been trying to follow this joint but got stopped...

After a long week of traveling and waiting, I finally made it to Stanford earlier this morning and moved into my place in the Schwab Residentialm Center. it was a great feeling to see the pal trees around and realize that i'm really going to be a student here. Today...
Day 6 – Sacramento, CA to…Sacramento, CA
Today was officially my day of studying and rest. The day started off bright and early with me hitting the "Essentials of Accounting" book that Stanford recommended incredibly hard. The GSB told us all to start studying at the start of the summer, but I was crazy busy...
Day 5 – Elko, NV to Sacramento, CA
I just got to the hotel in Sacramento and they have high speed internet access, so I’m finally able to post all of the entries I’d written throughout the trip. For most of my drive, I’d planned on making another funny entry about my drive out here, but now I’m...
