A major component of this site is a weblog that has had several lives, from its start as a featured MBA applicant/student blog on a separate site to its own presence on the Blogger system and now to its own domain as my personal website.
As you read through the entries, you'll see me go through three distinct phases in my life:
- Pre-MBA experience: Experiences that one typically goes through before matriculating at business school
- Life as an MBA student: Highs and lows of my time as a student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in much more detail than most would expect to see
- Post-MBA life...and serving as a career/education/life coach to the masses: Responses to questions emailed to me by readers, where I use what I have learned through my own missteps and experiences to help others achieve their goals and avoid making the same misstepsÂ
Yet another blow to my fellowship quest…
I just got an email from Stanford telling me that I wasn't moved to the semifinal round for the General Motors felowship in their Partnership for Diversity (P4D) Fellowship program. This diss along with the earlier diss from Goldman Sachs means that my fellowship...
A big setback in my fellowship hunt
I just received an email from Goldman Sachs saying that they decided not to make me a finalist for their summer MBA fellowship program. I knew that they had a lot of applicants for the ~10 spots they had available, but I was hoping to at least get an interview at...
An outing with some of my future classmates…
I just got home after a brunch with some of my future classmates and some Stanford GSB alums organized by the Admissions Office...with a surprise appearance by Derrick Bolton, Stanford's Director of Admissions. We gathered at Old Ebbitt Grill in DC, which is a nice...
The search for fellowships continues
OK, I've become settled with the fact that I'm going to be living like a pauper from now until May 2006, but I'm still looking for financial assistance. I just mailed off my application for the Goldman Sachs MBA Fellows program on Friday and I'm hoping that they'll...
Conclusion of the Stanford Admit weekend wrap-up

News from Tuck…
I almost forgot to make a post about the news that I got on Friday morning. I got the call from Walt C. at Tuck that I'd been accepted and they came through with a major financial aid package. He said so many good things about me that I didn't stop grinning for a good...

My recap of Stanford’s Admit Weekend (it’s about time, right? 😉 )
I know that I'm a few days late on putting up my recap of the Stanford Admit Weekend, but the jet lag took a little longer than I thought to get over. Now, I'm well-rested and have some time to put my thoughts down, so I might as well get to it...Friday afternoon and...
It’s time to start the scholarship search
Now that I've decided on where I'm going to be enrolling, my biggest concern is figuring out how to pay for it. I know that I'm going to have to get some major loans to pay for my two years at Stanford, but the thought of coming out owing $120K is terrifying. I've...
