A major component of this site is a weblog that has had several lives, from its start as a featured MBA applicant/student blog on a separate site to its own presence on the Blogger system and now to its own domain as my personal website.
As you read through the entries, you'll see me go through three distinct phases in my life:
- Pre-MBA experience: Experiences that one typically goes through before matriculating at business school
- Life as an MBA student: Highs and lows of my time as a student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in much more detail than most would expect to see
- Post-MBA life...and serving as a career/education/life coach to the masses: Responses to questions emailed to me by readers, where I use what I have learned through my own missteps and experiences to help others achieve their goals and avoid making the same misstepsÂ
More good news…
I just got a call from the Director of Admissions at Darden and I was offered a spot in their class of 2006. I loved it down at UVA while I was earning my first Master's degree so I am grinning like a champ at this news. Now, I've got to see if the Consortium feels...
I just realized I left something unfinished yesterday

Dang, I’m tired as a mutha…
Tomorrow is D-Day for Harvard and Stanford and I haven't gotten a full night of sleep since Saturday worrying about whether there was something I could have done to increase my chances at those schools. I went into this whole B-school application process not expecting...
Well, I had to get it out of the way eventually…
Something just compelled me to go to Kellogg's website and check on the status of my application and, to my surprise, saw a letter on the screen with this as the first paragraph:"The Admissions Committee has completed its review of your application for admission to...
Happy new year!
I don't really have anything of consequence to add for this entry, but I wanted to wish all of you a Happy New Year. I won't be hearing from any of my other schools for another 3 weeks, so this weblog may end up being pretty light until then. I'll be hearing from...
My Harvard Business School interview
Whew! What should I say about the HBS interview? Have you ever gone into a situation terrified that you would screw up only to come through in the end hitting a home run and having no problems? Well, that didn’t happen for me today…I bombed that joint and I think...
Time to get caught up…
I know I'm late on giving you guys the run-down about the HBS Prospective Student Day, but I was away on vacation for the past week. Anyways, here's the summary of what i saw:To put it simply, HBS did it up really big for all of us. I wasn't a big fan of the 7:00am...
