What’s good, everybody. I hope you’re all doing well. Those of you who’ve visited my site before might notice some changes around here. Recently, I’ve been inspired by how my friends Jullien and Detavio expanded their WordPress-hosted personal blogs into full-on web presences hosted on their own. In both cases, they set up their blogs to include other content and are able to expand it as far as they might want to in the future.
Seeing how great their new sites are got me thinking about the limitations of my old Blogspot-hosted site, so I figured that should do a little “remodeling” of my own web presence. After all of these years, it’s about time, right? Plus, I thought it would be a nice way to celebrate the six-year anniversary of my blog…that’s right, six years ago TODAY I posted my first entry and, until this past weekend, I didn’t even own my own domain. At first, I was a little worried about using my full government name as the domain for the site, but “www.marquis.com” was already taken and it’s pretty easy to figure out the full joint anyway with a Google search. Besides, I didn’t want to give someone else a chance to steal my named domain and profit it from it once I start ballin’ out forreal-forreal :-). I’m so slow when it comes to this sort of thing (because I just focus on putting content up here to help my readers), but, at least, I’ve made a step toward catching up with the rest the Internet folk out there.
As you navigate through the site, feel free to pass along any feedback that might make it better. I’m still in the process of tinkering with it to get it juuuuuust right, so additional ideas are welcome. I’m considering different expansion options to improve the site (including adding a “Videos” section as a secondary way to respond to people’s emails), so, if you have any ideas around that, please let me know. Finally, I forgot to back up the links that I had on my Blogspot-hosted site, so I’ve lost a lot of links to other sites…if I used to have a link to your site on my blog, please let me know so I can add it to my blogroll on this new version.

It looks good! I think Videos will be a great idea. I imagine that it would save you time in responding as well.
